For Patients & Visitors
Visiting Hours & Guidelines
General visiting guidelines across all Balm Oyster Medical locations. Specific hours can vary by department and site — please confirm with the unit you're visiting.
General Visiting Hours
Most inpatient units welcome visitors daily between 10:00am and 8:00pm. Intensive care, maternity, and pediatric units often have adjusted hours to support patient rest and recovery — please check with the unit's nursing station on arrival.
Emergency Department
Visitor access to the emergency department is determined by the treating team based on the patient's condition and space constraints. A staff member can advise on visiting at the time of arrival.
Before You Visit
- Check in at the main reception or unit nursing station before proceeding to a patient room.
- If you're feeling unwell, please postpone your visit — this protects other patients as well as the person you're visiting.
- Some units may limit the number of visitors at a patient's bedside at one time.
- Children visiting a patient should be supervised by an adult at all times.
International & Out-of-Town Visitors
If you're traveling from outside the area to visit a patient, our Patient Relations team can help coordinate visit timing and answer questions about the unit. Interpretation support is available on request.
